The University of Virginia's College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences will increase the minimum level of living support for MFA students from $31,518 to $36,000 annually beginning with the fall 2025 semester. More details appear in this news article.  

• Timing: The increase will take effect at the start of the 2025 fall semester and includes a state-mandated three percent increase.
• Eligibility: The minimal funding level will be applied to all full-time current and incoming graduate students who receive living support.
• Payment Details: As currently practiced, student support packages are arranged for fall, spring, and summer terms. To receive the full annual salary, students must complete all three terms.
